1994 Caracas, Venezuela. Lives and works in London.
My current practice draws from performance to sculpture and installation. I work mainly with used clothes, epoxy resin and silicone, as well as other domestic found objects. I seek to freeze in time ephemeral actions, gestures and sensations of everyday life, creating a series of monuments to the body’s unconscious and intimate reactions. I am interested in juxtaposing several in-between moments, often hovering within the pure and impure, pleasure and disgust, clean and dirty, stretching from the throwaway gesture of discarding sweaty clothes on the floor to the sensation of when my tongue touches my palate. I delve and explore the porosity of a wet white t-shirt that covers the blushing of my skin as a natural political reaction and as a way to deal with my identity and the limits that hold my body.
